I studied B.-tech chemical engineering from srm university, chennai, passed out in 2016. I will be sharing my personal experience. when I joined this university all I heard was 100% placements, like all freshers I thought if I do chemical engineering I will get a job related to chemical and it was myth for all three years. after entering into final year we realized that the demand for chemical engineers is less., so we all got placed in IT companies. few of them got satisfied as getting job at that time was of utmost priority. since I was much more interested into core sector I got all support from placement cell and finally I end up with into 4 core - hubert enviro care systems, EMTRC, Gnetix biotech, and sanmar engineering tech pvt ltd and IT Includes- TCS, wipro. I got so many opportunities to do research and doing some great works during my tennure of four years so I would say if you aspire to do research or if you asprire to join some core sectors this is the best place to study again it is a subjective matter i’m sharing my own experience it varies from person to person.
