Beware of these cheaters.

Are u holding or thinking of owning a manhattan credit card?....here is a piece of valuable advice.....

Dont forget to maintain a LOG book of conversation details like Name of the customer care professional, date and time of ur interaction with him/her.

It is very important because you know why?....when u log a complaint or make a request with these people and call back them to confirm it, they ask u .....

Mrxxxxx, there is no complaint logged till date can u tell us the name of the person u spoke to ?

Mr.xxxxx, pls give us the exact date and time when u called us for the request, so that we can trace down the information?

Surprised?.....i was shocked and pissed of with them. tell me who on earth would remember the name of the customer care person whom he speaks with. and who would remember the exact date and time?..........

now another piece of advise:

use the card once in every 6 months not just once in first 6 months!!!!

i use citicredit card for my regular purchases. I got Manhattan card a year back basically for 2 reasons. 1. it was a lifetime free card and can be used as a backup card 2. the graphics on the credit card looks kool.

i havnt used manhattan card much since one year. I was told by my friend that the card has to be used atleast once for the first 6 months otherwise they would terminate the card. so I used it and repayed the money. A couple of months back I recived a statment asking to pay 250 rs for non usage of the credit card. I spoke to the customer care person and he said that it is clearly written on the documents that they have sent along at the time of issue of the card, saying the card has to be used atleast once in every 6 months!!!. so it was not first 6 months but once in every 6 months. so I told him I was unaware of the fact and he promised me to cancell the charges and asked me to use it . so I said ok and made some purchases in bigbazar.

till now things seem going well. 3 weeks back I recieved second statement which included 300 rs as late payment fees. so the total amount due was 250+300= 550!

i got a shock and called back the customer care person for clarification. He said the rs 300 late payment fees was for not paying the rs 250 (non usage fee ) in time. I explained him that I made a request for cancelling those charges and customer care person assured me to do so. he checked back and told me that there was no request logged!!! and asked me the details of the person I interacted with!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i said I dont remember any of those details and requested him to take necessary action. he promised that since I have started using the card they shall waive off the charges. so I was releived. but I didnt know that the messy problem has just started.

i called today after 2-3 weeks to confirm my request. And to my dissappointment, I came to know that no complaint or request has been lodged. Back to square one. Again I had to explain him what has happened and this guy again asks me to tell him the name of the person to whom I spoke with!!!! More over he was enticing me to transfer any outstanding balance I have in any of my credit cards or take a loan inorder to waive off the non-usage fees and late fee charges.

how stupid and dishonest these people are!!...total crooks.

i finally decided to pay the money I have actually spent (excluding unjust non usage fees and late fee charges) and cancel the card. It was total waste of time, energy and unnecessary complication to deal with.

final piece of advice:

if ur too keen in owning a manhattan credit card

read each and every line that is written on the offer documents before u sign them and be prepared to get your pocked shaved off by these crooks.

these days there are plenty of lifetime free credit cards being promoted by many banks with a better professional service for corporate employees. so why manhattan?
