I took "free" Standard Chartered credit card about a year and a half back. I Was told that before any charges are put on the account I will be called and asked. I never got a call. And I never used the card. Now I have been getting bills since months asking me to pay.
What’s worse is that each time I call their customer care (which by now is about 4-5 times) I am "assured" the Card is deactivated and charges will be reversed. I fail to understand how can a deactivated card attract charges month on month?
Each time I call every new executive gives me a different view of "deactivated" card. Today I get an email from them stating the Terms and Conditions and that I have to pay the amount. They seem to be a confused lot of people.Never had a worse experience than Stan C.
Really wonder if I can escalate it any further? I resolve to not pay the charges since it is incorrect. I have asked them to give me the audio clip of the call I received from them while I was given the Card since I am aware that each call or telephonic confirmation is recorded.
