I got this card sometime after it was launched. I got it only because of cash back they were offering on petrol purchases. I promptly stopped using the card after this scheme was withdrawn. There was one more reason to stop using this. They had given some rudimentary internet access. This collapsed one fine day. I contacted the so-called customer support. I was promised that the internet banking portal would be rectified in a few days time. Days passed by, months passed by, years passed by, nothing happened. During this time I had not used the card even once(in over 3 years). The bank promptly renewed my card!
One fine day, I made up my mind to close this useless card. I called up the so-called customer service. I told the lady to cancel my card, she told me to call up after 4 days to confirm cancellation. I forgot to call, and received a call from them. The lady wanted to know why I want to cancel the card. I told about lack of internet banking facility. She offered another card, when I find the existing card useless. She tried to act smart by asking all kinds of stupid questions and giving stupid suggestions and finally gave up after hearing a mouthful from me. Finally, my useless card was canceled and I got 2 SMSs confirming this!
Hold on, this is not the end of the story. About 2 weeks later, I got call from the bank. The person on the phone told me that I hold their card and they want to offer one more card. I told him that I do not hold their card any longer, I also told him not to call me again. A few days passed, this stupid bank calls me again, gets scolded, calls again, gets scolded, calls again, gets scolded.
The story does not end here, either. I got an SMS on 4th of this month, telling me to download Shoppers Stop gift voucher and use it with my card!
