As we all know that before going for a credit card its very important to know about certain issues.
Because its all about money.
My advice for all those people planning to go a a credit card (especially manhattan card):
a) Dont take it from any non bank agent.
b) first make sure that the person whom u r talking is directly related to that specific bank
c) Dont go for anything they say. Verify by seeing the related documents signed by branch manager before believing any benefits they talk abt ( I will tell a very interesting experience below)
d) Go through all the public forum and find out other people experiences.
e) Make sure dont fall for the benefits. Its of rare use most of the times. Rather check out the interest rates.
f) If you cant understand all the twist and turns of credit card interest rates then talk to your collegues who r using credit cards coz once you have your own credit card you will understand everytiung gradually.
g) Go for a photo credit card. it only requires one extra photo copy thats all.
h) while buying from any shops dont let the credit card go out of your sight. Its very important
g) And finally Dont use your credit vard in any general websites.
As till now I have only one credit card ...thats manhattan I havent faced any serious trouble. although I got the PIN number very late.
And my credit card was also delivered to me very late.
But after recieving the card I didnt face any credit related issues. But one thing although its my personal opinion that net banking of manhattan is not at all user friendly.
Now comes one of the interesting experience.....
One day I was enjoying a lunch break outside my office......suddenly a smart guy approached me. That time I didnt have anycredit cards...So he told me that he was from ICICI bank and request us to spare some time and know abt the benefits of ICICI credit card. First of all he told me its free for life with no annual or joining fees then he went on and on.....he told there was flat 10 % discount at any buying at shoppers stop. then he told me some brands of clothings and told me some of them offers flat 40% discount while some offers 20% and 30%. he also told me that we will be recieving gifts time to time along with air fare discounts and dinig discounts. by showing this card big bazaar will give us yearly 12 kilos of sugar. and many more discounts at big bazaar. I cant remember all the details.......so I was kindof swayed away by his lucrative style of speaking and after knowing ICICI is giving us so many benefits I was interested. But I told him to come next day to take all the documents. Now I dont know why but after going back to my desk I searched google and found out many people complaining that after beleiving what credit card guys said they have to suffer . So next day when that guy came to take the documents he called me up and after I met him I told him that I am ready to give the documents but first I wanna see a documents containing all the benefits that he said by the branch manager. He assured me that the very next day he will be coming with documents signhed by branch manager..........
and that guy never showed up or called me...nor did I saw him around the office till date...........
So friends think before u go for a credit card.
