Very poor customer service and a very poor product

I am just pasting my mail I have written to customer care at Manhattan as I found no one in whole delhi whom I can meet and disuss my own case. Thay dont have any office here. There are only standard chartered banks who doesnt entertain any queries on cards. Even themanagers you talk to are so rude as if you have made a mistake by taking their card and they treat you as you are some kind of pervert or crook.


Please read the mail below that I have written to Standard Chartered and you will know about this poor product. Mate!!! what ever you may do, dont buy this card. They are delaing my case and sending me mails every month with extra late fee charges and not even caring to call and discuss the case. Although request has been sent manytimes. I hope you will enjoy my review which I hope is an eye opener.


Hello Sir/Mam,


This is in regard to my standard chartered bills and my conversation with supervisor who caled me from bangalore.


first thing first: I havant recieved my standard chartered bill for the last five months. (do get bills in lmails but it wa made evry clear to the executive who came to fill my form that payments will not be made on the basis of ebills as I dont cheque my mails very regularly, ifact once in two months). In the beginning I never cared as my stats were very simple and I was able to make out the amount is right and I trusted Standard chartered blindly so I made the payment every time. Now the problem came in when in june I didnt recieved my bill again and I called customer care service number. I was told the amount I have to pay is 59429 so I just made a cheque on standard chartered credit card and put it in the drop box, to my surprise money didnt got credited from my account so I called again and I was told the cheque has not been recieved. I provided them the cheque number as well. In a hurry as I was moving out of city I put another cheque n which due to hurry and confusion I forgot to sign (thats my fault) again the money didnt get credited from my account so without informing me they blocked my card. It was so embarrasing when I was making the payment for my official guest and the waiter said your has been blocked. My God that was the most embarrasing moment of my life. Anyway I (please note I) called them again (instead of standard chartered calling me and informing) and was told about a mistake made by me. I know its foolish of me but you see these things happen when you not recieving any bill and you alone driving the whole thing by yourself, I mean getting no help form the bank. If we go with the status of standard chartered we expect Standard Chartered to drive the relationship instead of other way round. I was in a impression that relationship is both ways but here everything is one sided. Anyway I made the payment with the third cheque. as I didnt remember the figure so called the customer care, I was told the payment due is 65544 so I made a payment of 66000 without even looking at the bill as I trusted standard chartered. I was never told there is some late fee or interest is being charged in this.


Now in the whole case my only mistake is that I gave the second cheque (please note second cheque) without a signature. Why I am being charged for late payments and interest when I am not reciebving bill for the last five months, I dont know to whom they are delevering the bills. why should I pay penalties if Standard chartered courier guys are not working properly whether it is delievering the bill or collecting the cheques from the drop box.


I tried to discuss the case with Supervisor form bangalore, she was a girl with big head and big mouth. She simply blasted me out. My question is for what? what wrong have I done..why this humiliation to me...is it because I tried to run evrything from my side, is it because I wanted to be a good custmer to standard chartered...I am sorry but my confidence in standard charered is gone. If this is how you treat your custmers I will stop using standard chartered card. Now this mail is my last hope, if still nothing is done then I will be left with no option but to discontinue my card. This is not a threat but a simple letter from a dissatisfied customer who would love to continue relationship with standard chartered if late fee and interest charged are waived off.
