As in all my reviews, I would first like to thank you for your time in reading this column.
I have a Standard Chartered Platinum Credit Card, I must say they offer you credit of 45 days for all your spends, its the biggest advantage of owning one! Yes, I’m right, owning this Credit Card will only gift you with this.
Cons,
They do not have a proper customer care number, any communication/clarification you need (In Bangalore) you have to wait accordingly,
IVR -No option for talking to a customer service representative
Email- 7 working days!(That’s the time my other bank took to process a new credit card).
Request SMS Call Back: 24 Hrs wait time, by the time they call you, either you would have forgotten what to ask or you would have become impatient about trying all which ways to reach them. Even if you are lucky on the above two lines, you will not get a instant solution for your problem, unless resolution is information capturing!
Registration:(for those who do no have a Standard Chartered Bank Account): Never responsive, not able to register my account as my number isn’t stored in their records which is needed to verify/authenticate. But Surprisingly I get all reminders for my payments correctly!!
Now coming down to benefits,
Once during an Eclipse you can see good offers such as 15% cash back & 0%interest on emis on Samsung phones like the one going till April 30th 2013. (Let me tell you, the bank does not show any interest or lend a hand in your needs to increase a credit limit by a small factor considering all the credibility factors of the customer who has banked with them from a long period).
I have listed out my own experience and a collective opinions from my colleagues @Office, I would say a big NO NO to this bank in the current year at least until they resume and render proper service on their products.
