I wish all the people in Chennai, India reads this and would avoid standard chartered credit card.
I had an SC card for one year, and after a year the card had an annual fee. I made repeated calls to get it cancelled, and wrote a written letter to them as well.
As per the advice of one great customer service rep, I even paid them 2 months annual fee.
I left India after that. Before leaving India, I called up to make sure that my card would be cancelled.
Now years later they are threatening me saying I have to pay a big sum for the annual fee and all the interest that was accumulated. The card was still active and it went to their ’recovery department’!
So WATCH OUT! Never take any credit cards from Standard Chartered in Chennai, India. For that matter, better to avoid any credit card from them. I am not sure of other places, they might have a nice service. So enquire well.
I would call the SC credit card service as looting and cheating service, as thats the name that fits them well. Its the worst product experience I ever had in my life.
