Hi guys,
On 27-01-2017 I went for shopping along with my buddy at Star Bazaar in Phoenix Market City, Viman Nagar Corner, Pune.
I purchased some grocery, cosmetics & soaps etc. I also picked Loreal Paris colour protect Shampoo 75 ml which was offered for Rs. 55/-(MRP).
After I finished my shopping I turned up to the billing counter and I got my bill with list of items purchased printed on it.
But since this was my first visit to the Star Bazaar I thought to go through the bill once before making the payment. But to my surprise I saw price of Loreal Paris colour protect shampoo 75ml was printed as Rs. 60/- instead of offered price Rs. 55/-.
When I asked billing staff to clarify this he first denied & was not believing me but, when I insisted he requested me to go to the CSD counter to settle the issue. But while I was leaving he forced to pay the bill before leaving the counter with materials I purchased. I paid it and left for CSD.
However, when I went to the CSD the staff available there crossed checked & accepted the discrepancy. He then apologized but I was forced to take a biscuit pack in return.
But wait a minute if youre think this may be the first bad experience then let me narrate you one another similar incident I faced.
On 04-02-2017 I picked Smith & Jones ginger garlic paste(Pouch) 200 gms from shelf. The MRP was Rs. 40/- and it was offered for Rs. 36/-.
Since, I still remembered my bad experience of 27-01-2017 I was quite suspecting the bill amount. When I went closely gone through the bill I found that Smith & Jones ginger garlic paste(Pouch) 200 gm was charged for Rs. 40/- instead of offered price Rs. 36/-(without any discount).
But this time when I asked the billing staff to clarify this he bluntly replied "go and check it yourself"! with an annoying voice.
The last experience was worst than the previous one.
The issue of discrepancy in the bill in the above instances were of less value. But if the same case was with the higher value. Moreover, their may be so many customers turn-ups everyday to Star Bazaar. Now, you can imagine how much illegitimate gains Star Bazaar may be making by cheating customers each day?
I learned somewhere that Star Bazaar is a Tata Enterprise. But I think even traditional retail shops have better culture than Star Bazaar branch at Phoenix Market City, Pune.
So, I request to all shopaholics out there to "CHECK YOUR BILL BEFORE YOU CHECK OUT"
Happy Shopping!
Bye
