A Memorable Journey

After a long time I am writing back on mouthshut....I hope to receive some comments on this review from good old friends here.

Well I was browsing through some topics here and found this Star Cruise topic. So decided to write my experience on the cruise.

I was planning for a break from a hectic schedule and was willing to do something different which was not yet experienced by me. So one fine day I was browsing through the internet and all pf a sudden this idea came to my mind why not to go for break on Star Cruise.

I immediately decided to take 4 days 3 night cruise from Singapore - Phuket(Thailand) - Langkawi(Malaysia) - Singapore along with my wife.

I was aware that there are 4 types of cabin on different decks and price varies from different type of cabin and on what deck they are located.Higher the deck higher is the price.

State Cabin

State Cabin with Pot hole

State Cabin with window

State Cabin with balcony

Junior Executive Suite

Executive Suite.

I decided to go for State cabin with window and reached the main office of Star cruises to get my tickets done. I was waiting there for my Queue number and was browsing through the different brochures they kept there. And alas!!! I saw the Cabin with balcony and was just mesmerized with the view. I immediately changed my mind and decided to go for cabin with balcony irrespective of thinking of what the cost might be.

So finally got my ticket done for balcony class and not to mention booking a ticket here in Singapore is just a breeze...

Was impatiently waiting for the day to come when I was going to board the ship.

So finally the day arrived and I was on my way to the Cruise station.....Oh my god how big the ship is.....13th decks....jut imagine......

It took some time to get my boarding passes and but that was worth a wait.....So as soon I walked through the connector to the ship there was a warm welcome by the crew clad in Brazilian outfits. Since I was on balcony class I got priority boarding...and forgot to mention all balcony class passenger got a free dining credit worth SGD 200.We were allow to eat any restaurant on the cruise with that credit value.

So finally I was onboard and just was waiting to see my cabin.....and you can’t imagine it was worth every extra single dollar I paid for it. That balcony was simply and truly "Your Own Piece of Ocean" as they had advertised. Balcony was well equipped with relaxing chair and I just want to relax there with that unforgettable sound of ocean...Truly mesmerizing.....

after boarding I just slipped into some relaxing attire and was off to explore that giant ship...There was every thing you can expect in a modern township...you name it and you have it....All kinds of restaurants including exotic restaurant from Taj group, Cinema hall, Casino, Amphitheatre, Swimming pools, Discos, Pubs, Gym, Spa.....the list was truly endless

I was just thinking whether these 4 days will be enough for all these things.

Every moment you have lot of things to do there...there were shows going in amphitheatre, if you want you can just chill and relax by side of pool taking a sun bath.

I enjoyed some good time on the top deck recording some memorable moment of life on camera....

Next day we reached Phuket and I booked a guided tour to Phang Naga onboard itself...though you can enjoy on your own too

That tour was a canoeing tour under the marshy caves in between the mountains on high seas of Phuket.and believe me that was an experience of its own and top of it that mouth watering Thai vegetarian cuisine...........unmatched.

Then we headed back towards our jumbo ship and reached well before time of departure. Then did some street shopping for which whole Thailand is famous for....

Next day morning we reached Langkawi and this time we decided to go free and easy of our own. We hired a taxi for whole day and covered various places of interest including the famous Bridge where climax of SRK Don was picturised.

On the whole that holiday on the cruise is unforgettable and if you get chance to go on cruise, just don’t miss it. You will always crave for it.
