I am not being critical. I am just relating the truth of TV soaps, ’Kyun ki’ it degraded and mis-portrayed Indian women and family system. We Indians were ruled and exploited for over 1200 years first by the Mughals and then the british. But due to our Social and family values our nation didn’t fall apart.
We still lived in Joint family system and respected each others values and needs. But the daily soaps brought to India by likes of Ekta Kapoor started a new raga of social value destruction. Indian characters were put into western scripts and the ill-effects are plenty to be seen. From simple god-loving families we turned to glamour striken drama lovers.
The damage is already done and we have a social cancer now. May God save India and its families from this absolute waste of time.
