Music Competition

The new season of  reality music shows has started and it is good to see some changes in the format. Over the year I have enjoyed the new talents in these shows , but  the format has not been encouraging for the people with clear and open mind without  any communal bias. My last review provoked many people to think and I am happy it was read by more than 900 people and the number  is approaching 1000. In Star it seems Mr. Gajendra Singh has no intention of leaving Shan even though many partners in MS expressed their concern over communalising the music shows in the last season.

This time, though the format is -taking one from each state, many of them are actually from Shan’s state. Moreover as written in another review 12 of the total constestants did not qualify in the last season. Of these 12 , atleast 4 seem to be from WB and coming under the guise of different states. This puts many questions on the format of the competition. Whether the domicile of the state is considered for this? It is a State based or language based or geography based clasification? If State based then how so many from one language? In Indian Idol we found many Marathi singer from Maharastra, but here we have Rahul Mukherjee. The organisers of show should think over it.

In my last review I mentioned the bias the anchor has for the his fellow comrades and many accused my intention and many agreed. This time I request every body to analyse themselves and understand the musical complex.

As far as Judges are concerned, they are established names in Music. But it is not necessary that a good musician can be a good judge. Ismail Durbar left Zee as his pupil Raja could not win. Now his first statement that he wants an Indian to win the competition , hints his dislike at the format of Zee -Saregamapa Viswayudh.

In Sony there is a competition going on namely " Waar Pariwar". The concept is good. The other day one family was eliminated by public voting. Then they expressed doubt ovet the voting as they were supposed never to be defeated. Even they warned Sony that no body from eastern region will see the channel henceforth. You will be surprised to know that they were again from WB.

They expressed their anger over the matter that Mrs Ismail Durbar questioned their affinity only for Kishore Kumar and Kumar Sanu. The contestants coming to reality show should have the courage to face the reality and should never have Superiority Complex.

The Saregamapa in Zee has an anchor with youthful and unbiased image so far. The judges are good with Himesh contributing to   the TRP for the show with chinese makeover and abnormal behaviour. Here we have many talented singers and without any language bias though some of the singers with Bangla mother tongue are really very good.

All these shows are here to draw economical benefit from the emotions of the people. As long as one understands this one can enjoy the music in pure sense , otherwise there is every possibility of being trapped in the complex world of musical commulanism.

Happy reading.
