This review is not of the actual STAR WARS trilogy of the’70s but of the prequel trilogy.

STAR WARS is best movie I have ever watched in my life. Initially what captured me very much in it is the’extra’ special effects. The star-ships, the droids(robots), the weapons, the space-battles’ sound effects and technology are things found in no other movie! But recently, Star Wars fans claimed that the new trilogy was nowhere in quality near the old original trilogy of the 70s. After watching adorable movies of James Bond, LOTR and’Munich’ I too thought the Star Wars movies are crap.
But.I was wrong:
Recently I watched STAR WARS Episode III DVD. This movie is not a typical English movie offering entertainment for short duration. It’s sth beyond it .
THX Technology: I played this newly bought THX certified DVD at home and entered the setup-menu before watching the movie. There were the usual features and also a THX Calibration Menu. It helps us tune and preset the brightness and contrast before we start watching the movie. So we know how bright and dark the images will be in the movie before watching them. The color in this movie is perfect - not too saturated and not too dull. Also, we there are similar calibrations for sound too. As I just started to watch the movie, the opening 20th Century Fox music was crystal clear and
grand unlike in other movies. Right there one could feel the THX difference. I realized why the DVD costs 800 bucks(unlike other DVDs costing 50 to 500 bucks). You need to
watch the movie in a THX certified Home theater to feel the picture and
sound
special effects of Industrial Light and Magic( .
ILM has also worked to create the special effects in the latest movie
"Avatar") . Well done, ILM!
Plot:
SFX aside, what really touched my heart in this movie unlike the other 2
episodes is the story: After the titles
"Long Time Ago In A Galaxy Far, Far Away."
Jedi Knights Obi-Wan and Anakin fly by two mini ships to save the
kidnapped Palpatine, the
Galactic Parliament’s President who is held in the middle of the skies above the planet Coruscant. They cross many giant ships and enemies
and finally reach to confront Count
Dooku and General Grievous,
a mix of flesh & machine. Anakin kills Dooku but senses he has done
a wrong thing, only to be supported by Palpatine. After the war, Anakin learns his wife Padme is pregnant. But . just the way Anakin dreamed of his mom b4 she died, he dreams that his pregnant wife will die in childbirth. Ever after this scene, darkness grows in the movie. The dream haunts Anakin and he hunts a way to stop her death. Later, Anakin is joins the Jedi council without being made a’Jedi Master’: this makes him think the Jedi are stopping his talents from emerging sensing his future to be’too powerful to control’. Palpatine always flatters Anakin by praising his Jedi Force talents to far exceed the talents of other Jedis - even the 800 years old Master Yoda. But Anakin later learns that his old friend Palpatine is the evil Sith Lord Sidious and that Palpatine also knows the ways of the’Dark Side of the Force’ to stop his wife from dying. In an exciting dilemma, Anakin kills Jedi Master Windu and bows to the dark Lord and becomes a Sith Lord too. Henceforth, Anakin is anointed by the Sith Lord Sidious as .
"Darth Vader"!
He assumes the Jedi are evil and slaughters all Jedi and separatists and satisfies his Lord. Thus the clone war is over. The Lord declares in Senate that the galaxy will thereafter be the.’first galactic empire’.
The scene where Sith anoints Anakin as Vader is a dark and frightening scene. The execution of Order 66 where Jedi all over the galaxy are massacred is also a heartbreaking scene watchable tearfully. Knowing this Master Yoda confronts the Sith Lord after hearing.
"At Last The Jedi Are No More.Haha "
Obi Wan explains these events to Padme who is shocked and reaches Anakin on the volcanic planet Mustafar and tries to convince Anakin who wouldn’t listen to her. In his anger Anakin tries killing her when the heroic Obi-Wan arrives, stops Anakin and condemns Anakin saying:
"You Have Allowed This Dark Lord To Twist Your Mind Until Now . Until Now You Have Become The very Thing You Swore To Destroy! ".
But the reluctant and lost Anakin demands Obi to join him, quoting:
"If You’re Not With Me, You’re My Enemy "
Obi Wan strictly denies and says he’ll stand by the Galactic Republic. Following this clash of opinion, is a terrific and heroic battle between the two old friends with their blue light-sabers(laser-swords) on Mustafar. Finally Obi defeats Anakin using his High Ground method. At last, Padme is forced to deliver twin children Luke and Leia. She dies quoting,
" Obi-Wan . There Is Still Good In Anakin"
The movie ends with a couple standing in desert and holding Luke in their arms watching the Binary Sunset( two suns of the same planet setting!) on Tattooine planet.a sad ending with the a ray of hope that this child will help his father restore order in the galaxy( remember "Luke I Am Your Father"?)
Message: Bible states: "The Wages Of Sin Is Death". What a man’s fall from righteousness and entry to sin can cost him has been best shown by George Lucas in STAR WARS. Technology has a great role here too. This is a once in a lifetime movie made for quality viewers and not for junk lovers watching a movie for 90 minutes of entertainment!
Conclusion: My verdict: Star Wars is the best movie ever made.
