There is a hidden magical town, Stronghold, beside England. The town is hidden by a forest beside village, Wall. The strange name of the village is because of a stone wall around the forest. No one knows about the existence of Stronghold as no one has ever crossed this wall.
Tristan, a young boy from Wall, England is madly in love with a Victoria. One night, when they are together, they see a shooting star fall in the forest. He promises Victoria that hell bring the fallen shooting star if she agrees to marry him.
The king of Stronghold is dying. In order to choose his heir, he throws his locket in the sky and asks his four sons to bring it. The one who brings the locket, will be the new king of Stronghold. The locket hits a star in the sky and falls in forest with the star, or shooting star. Turns out the star is actually a beautiful girl, Yvaine.
Tristan, unaware of that star is a human, tries to cross the wall, but is stopped by the guard. He learns that he is not the first one to cross the wall, but his father already did when he was young. When he asks his father about it, he learns he is the son of a captive princess whom his father met when he crossed the wall. With the help of a magical candle, he teleports to the crater where the star fell. Disappointed to see that star is not a stone, but a human, he tries to bring Yvaine to Victoria to prove that he kept his promise.
Three witches of Stronghold are also trying to find the star. As the star/girl will give them eternal youth. So are the kings sons, trying to find the locket which fell with the star.
The movie is all about Tristan, trying to save Yvaine from witches and kings sons. In the journey, he meets different people and fells in love with Yvaine. He finds the locket and becomes the king as his mother was the princess of Stronghold.

The first 10 minutes of the movie, and you might think "what crap is it?". Next 10 minutes, "hmm, looks interesting". Another 10 minutes, "wow, beautiful, amazing, fantastic".
Stardust is more magical than "Chronicles of Narnia" and more darker than "Harry Potter" movies. If you liked Chronicles of Narnia, Pans Labyrinth, Lord of the Rings, you must watch Stardust. It is a total fantasy movie. Keep your brain and logic out while watching this one and youll be fascinated. The special effects are good and script is fast paced with no loose "in-betweens".
Michelle Pfeiffer, as the witch, has done a brilliant job and so has the new comer, Charlie Cox. Mark Strong, plays the negative character of Septimus. You might remember him from the movie "Sunshine". Claire Daines(from Terminator 3) plays the role of Yvaine. Robert De Niro has a small role as a captain of a flying ship.
