As a customer of SBI, I would like to post this review to u all for gaining more idea about this bank. Indias largest bank, maximum number of customers, wide coverage network of banks and ATM. Yes true, all this fame goes to SBI only. But at the same time it has slow and lazy customer support team, irresponsible staffs. This one cons may bring the bank down.
In my family, we hold three accounts in SBI out of four members. But no one is happy with their service. My mother is scared of going to SBI to have an enquiry with the bank in her circle. Myself, I use the bank ATM only not the bank counter. Once I was a SBI bank user regularly, but those staffs and their response created a bad impression.
Once I asked for the internet banking facility in my branch, they gave a cover which contains the login password. They also asked me to use it after two days. On the third day I tried the password on their website. It didn’t work, when I used it for the third time it automatically got locked. I reported this to the concern person, but she told that I would have typed the password wrongly. She asked me so many questions rudely and at last gave another cover for the new password.
Again she told me to use it after 2 days. On the third day I used the password, but again the system didnt accept the password. I was informed that it is a wrong password. Instead of trying it for the second time, I directly went to the SBI bank and asked the concern person to enter the given password by themself. She typed the password and she got a response that the password is wrong. She smartly blamed me that I have entered the password wrongly thrice, and because of that the password has got blocked.
But I have only tried it once, I argued with her for this. She didnt accept theirs system problem, instead she blamed me and avoided me by asking the next customer to enter her cabin. Indirectly I was pushed out from the bank. I didnt report this to the bank manager, because the most responding staff of the bank is no one else except her. Then think how the others would be.
An another incident. In the same branch they took around 7 months to transfer my account from my native to their branch. Such a long time. I got my passport earlier in my hands before I get the SB account transferred, while both of these request are applied on the same time. Whether transferring a SB bank account is a bigger process than the passport issuing process?
And one more incident in pallavaram branch - Chennai . Once I was trying to get a DD for my entrance examination. It took nearly 1 day to take DD. There was a long queue before me for getting their DDs, but the queue didnt move and I thought that the concern staff was not in their seat. I got surprised and just tried to find whether there is staff or not. Thank god, I found a old lady (age above 45) in that counter. Very funny to see her searching for the alphabets in the keyboard, she was typing with a single finger. I think she is having eye problem , not able to view the words in the challan . She puts her head into the challan to read it . Oh god. Who asked her to sit in that counter .She is a short temper lady shouting at her customers? Very tough. Believe it or not at last I got the DD after standing in the queue for four and half hours.
All this are usual in SBI because all the staffs are government staffs. Usually they get the salary correctly with out fail , even though they are not productive or not working . Then who will get the working interest there. This incident happened in one of the biggest branch in Chennai ( Nungambakkam branch ) . If this is the case in the city itself , then how the other town and other village banks will be? Do u guys have any solution for these problems ?
