Very poor customer care

I really had a bad-stressed experience with SBI last month. On Jan-07, 2009 i’ve tried to withdraw Rs.5500/- from a SBI atm.. but due to some problems in the machine(which is also very slow one).


I didnt get the amt.. and after few trials, I got Rs.3000/-.. I got the receipt also for the same amt.. but unfortunately, Rs.5500/- has been taken from my account.. the mini statement says i’ve taken 5500!!


i gave a written complaint letter regarding this immediately as the bank is also near to the atm.. they didnt take any action immediately.. I went there after 1 week with another letter, then they transferred rs.2500/- next day.. I was happy to have that amt within the 10 days itself..


but the real prob has started after that only.. my account was actually in some other place(in SBI only) and i’ve withdrawn in another place.. my bank(in which i’ve account) has hold rs.3000/- from my account..


when I asked the reason they told, "u got rs.3000/- when u have just rs.1100/- in ur account (as per the mini statement after withdrawing rs.5500/- I had only rs.1100/-).. how was it possible?" I explained them, that rs.5500/ was wrongly printed.. they didnt accept this and asked me to provide the proof for that.. the reported branch told we’ve done our part(transferred rs.2500/-) and we cant do nothing..u’ve to ask ur branch only! :-(


the simplest way they would can do is-just make a call to the reported branch, and ask the details from them and instruct them to do the necessary corrections in my account statement..but they didnt do that.. I visited the reported branch weekly once and my dad visited the account branch almost daily... we have spent almost 4-5 hours per day for this amt..


after this long struggle, my branch has called the reported branch, and asked them to do the change.. atlast we got this amt on feb 22!! as we have visited both branches daily, we could have got the amt, if not so we wont get the amt till now..


I hate their irresponsibility, their hesitation of talking with each other.. as this is the problem b/w two branches, they only have to solve it.. but thy forced the customer to take actions!!?? but here, i’ve to thank some staffs in this matter..tey really showed their real concern in this.. but they r not in the superior post..that was the problem.. the superior officers dont have interest to solve this one quickly.. My humble request to all bank staffs are-please value ur customers’ time.. dont make them to involve in ur problem..
