SBI has a loan scheme, namely SBI SARAL PERSONAL LOAN.The bank has put the details and particulars of this loan scheme in its website( https://sbi.co.in/portal/web/personal-banking/sbi-saral-personal-loan), according to which this loan is open to all individuals, including even those who do not have salary account in SBI, provided they have good income credentials such as form 16, latest salary certificate.
However, the branch manager of Guruvayur branch, Kerala, is saying that there is no such loan scheme as SBI SARAL PERSONAL LOAN for those people who do not have salary account in SBI. It is true that giving personal loan is at the sole discretion of the bank. But, in this case, the branch manager of Guruvayur branch, Kerala, has not become willing to receive and check my income documents(i.e, form 16 for 5 years), the latest salary certificate, salary account bank statement, kyc documents etc.
Had he become willing to receive these documents, check them and plainly tell me that I am not eligible for this loan, I would not have any grievance, because I fully understand and accept that the giving of personal loan is at the sole discretion of the bank. But, in this case, he bluntly rejected my application, without even glancing at the papers(income documents, i.e, form 16 for 5 years, the latest salary certificate, salary account bank statement, kyc documents etc). Therefore, I think that it is very unfair and against the codes of BCSBI.
