Pathetic State of Affairs.

Firstly, I feel really sorry for the pathetic State of Affairs at SBI. Expected better customer service from this bank which has so many many many customers.


I lost my wallet(containing ATM cards) while travelling in bus at 9.30 AM. The minute I realised it, I tried calling on all 3 "so called" 24-hr toll free numbers.


1800 425 3800, 1800112211 and +91802659990 but there was no response till 11.38 AM- I only got to hear ridiculous IVR promos, ads and a statement"we appreciate your patience, please be on line". I personally visited the branch, they tell me that ATM card block can only be done via Toll free nos, and only alternative is, from the branch they can restrict any transactions but that will activate only after 24 hrs.


How do they expect customers to block the card, when the toll free numbers do not connect to any customer care executive?and worse, will the thief wait till 24hrs to use the ATM card?


I lost all my money.


Compare this with Citi Bank ATM card. I just called the customer care and answered a few security questions and within a minute I got an SMS stating that my card is blocked.
