This bank is the largest Indian Bank and interestingly, one of the most dynamic banks of recent times.
There is a lot to be said for SBI.
Account opening easiness- earlier, it used to be a painful experience. Not anymore but, with a condition that you need to have valid ID and address proofs as per the RBI and Home Ministry guidelines.
Account types available- You are left with no excuse to go to a Private bank for a type of account. You can find a range of account as per your needs.
Account maintenance charges- You will find the lowest charges possible. The penalties are pretty reasonable as well, in case you miss Min Avg Bal.
Internet Banking- Awesome interface, awesome speed and NEFT, RTGS facilities...along with a host of advanced services to make your life easy.
Customer care- THIS IS A FRONT where SBI HAS grown LEAPS and BOUNDS. I will tell 2 incidents, placed 10 months apart to show how SBI scores a 10/10 on this customer care.
10 months ago, I was facing an issue with MODS facility of my account, I had to go to the branch to sort it out. I explained to the Operations manager, and she gave her personal number in case I face the same issue again. The issue was escalated to GM level and I was kept in CC on all the emails to keep me informed. This is very professional action from SBI.
1 week ago, I tried to do some function from my online account, and I was facing a strange issue. I went to my branch, and there submitted a request to the Operations manager (its a new person this time, earlier I met some other person 10 months ago). And trust me, 1 ISSUE WAS SORTED OUT BEFORE I REACHED HOME and second issue was needing 1 working day wait, and after 1 day, things were GREAT. The issue was sorted and I am again on track.
This shows the CHANGE IN ATTITUDE towards customer, SPEED of execution of complaints, FACILITIES provided to customer etc.
- Although Mobile banking is an area of concern which SBI needs to improve upon. Looking at other improvements and facilities introduction, I am very hopeful on this.
I am totally in awe of SBI, and would like you to check out THE NEW SBI, if you have not done so yet.
Mind you--- I am a HNI and Wealth management CLIENT of a PRIVATE bank, and after that I see so much good of SBI.....there must be some mettle I suppose.
