Horrible experience

This is to warn everybody out there on the horrible experience I had with SBI. I decided to take a 3-in one (Savings, Internet and Demat) account with SBI, neglecting the warnings from my friends that it is a horrible place and you will be frustrated. But I decided to go ahead and here is my experience in a nutshell I opened my account in the SPL PBB in St. Marks road. I have received the “ Internet Kit” for internet banking the same day. It all went on well initially and I was able to login to my account. But suddenly one fine day, while logging in, the website said that my user name and password is Invalid.

My trouble starts then on.

I promptly visited the branch and raised a complaint. So they issued me a new kit and said the new one will be activated the same day. For activation, I approached the manager. He said the system is slow and cannot do it that morning. But promised that he will call me in the afternoon and asked me to leave my mobile number. I did the same and received no calls that day or the next day. So I contacted the branch got his mobile number and talked to him. He asked me to send an SMS with the kit no and said he will do it soon. Days passed and I kept of calling the manager at least twice every day. But nothing happened. I waited for 12 days and decided to visit the branch personally.

Finally I visited the branch today. The person I met there asked me to take another kit. I refused saying that last time I did the same thing and it didn’t help. The manager was not there. So spoke to him over phone and he asked me to take another kit. So I did the same.

I wanted to meet the manager personally so I told him I can wait. But he said he will be delayed. But assured again that there will be no delay this time and he will do something about it. Now its 7.30pm and I have called the manager twice already. My online account is still not working And I have no clue on what to do. So my advise is don’t ever go to SBI unless you have decided to get doomed. The bunch of jokers sitting there will realize the frustration they cause to the customers only when their asses are on fire. And I hope that will happen soon.

Update on 05/02/10:

The emails I have written surprisinly yield responses and my issue got resolved today. I insisted someone call me and help me out. So someone from the Bangalore head office called me and took the number of the manager and made it work. Surprising act from SBI. I tend to like them now, see the updated ratings.
