Biggest bank with highest rate of fine...

State Bank of India is one of the most popular banks in India with branches everywhere.I have SBI account for past 6 years.since past few months, sbi has turned out to be a great headache to middle class and poor people. There is a concept of minimum balance which most of the middle class and poor people find difficult to cope with. For city the minimum balance is Rs.3000 and for rural areas it is Rs.2000.And if there is no minimum balance in their account, sbi fines them every month.Another big issue in SBI is the maximum number of transactions that can be done in a month. For cities, it is 3 and for rural areas , it is 5.Many people suffer because of this issue especially the students living in hostels used to withdraw money weekly.this made them to suffer. Few years ago, bank usedto pay interest to the people who are account holders in SBI.but now it has turned the exact opposite for the bankers. They have to pay fine for almost everything i.e minimum balance or large withdrawal or number of transaction etc.ATM facility is also not so good. There is no 100rs note in sbi and many times SBI atms are not working.

Good point to mention is the internet banking. There are good apps like sbi anywhere and freedom for mobile banking.

Overall it is hard to manage an account in state bank of India.
