Today I am writing my own personal experience with the most popular government bank available in the market which isState Bank Of India. I have been using the services from State Bank Of India since five to six years and have never been satisfied with their services.
I have used several other government banks such as Union Bank Of India, Punjab National Bank, Allahabad Bank etc. and also few of private banks such as HDFC Bank, CITIBANK, ICICI Bank and so on but I never had such a bad experience with any of them as I had with the State Bank Of India. They really never care about their customers and treat them like the beggars standing on the road and begging money from them. The only difference between State Bank Of India customers and beggars on the road is State Bank Of India customers want to take their own hard earned money. Whenever you visit any of the State Bank Of India branch, they behave like you are asking them for their money.
I remember the first time when I visited the State Bank Of India branch in my home town Azamgarh to open my first Savings Bank account with the bank. After bring in the queue for around two hours, I got the account opening form from the counter. I filled up the account opening form and attached all the required documents with that. I went back to the branch to deposit the form and that was the most difficult task. All the bank representative redirected me to different counters as if none of them were aware about where to submit the application. Finally, I got to the right place to submit the application and the representative started checking the form. They can never tell you all the required documents to submit the application. After struggling for around a week, I was able to open the account with the wonderful bankState Bank Of India.
Its been three or four years and I have never visited to any of the State Bank Of India branch and even I want to close all my bank accounts from there. They would never learn how to treat their customers. I would never recommend to any of my contact to open an account with State Bank or even start any loan from them.
