This bank claims that they are one of biggest bank in whole world in their advertisement. That is indeed true and they should mention that: they are worst too. I have couple of friends who work in these banks as officers and in clerical positions. They all were excellent students and worked hard to get to those jobs. To me it seems there is a lot to be made to the banking system than criticising individuals working in that bank. The horrible bank unions are perhaps the worst enemy of India who encourage the employees to be less productive and more lazy. Go to any state bank and sure you will see the trickle down poor work ethics, indiffernt to customers even when they come to deposit their money. It is only seen in India and we accept it. Indians are one of the finest professionals and have shown their intelligence, hard work ethics everywhere except in India. I may be wrong and which I am in many times but I still consider that: it is our system which kills the spirit of hard work and rather encourages the mindless chattering and all excuses to be rather unproductive under the ghost of socialism. However the criticsm is no good if we don’t give statebank or any such oragnization an action list to improve:
Each bank must be clean with comfortable sitting area for the customers. There should be ample parking place if space is no problem.
Inside the bank: there should be sufficient lights and total restrictions for the employees to drink tea and cofee and read magazines during the office hours. They need to take coffee break for 1-2 times and rest of time need to concentrate on customers.
They need to show/state: common banking transcations, and how long it will take to complete. Open new account:15 minutes, withdrawl money:10 minute.
There is so much pride and enjoyment when you help a customer and you need to earn his/her respect. This is accomplished by going all the way to help the customer.
- And for customers: if we don’t like this bank and its service: please go as a group, tell to the manager about the problem respectfully and tell him that you all will close the account in a month if the better service is not visible.
