I had booked my household goods from Hastal, Uttam Nagar, New Delhi to Pune vide GR 2567 dt. 3rd March, 2013. I was told by Deepak Kumar, that it would reach Pune in about a week’s time, but it took almost a month. In the meanwhile I kept on asking the staff about the status of goods sent. I never got proper response from them. At times their replies used to be very rude and arrogant. They never cared to reply my emails.They never cared to give status update on their own. They even refused to give the driver’s contact no who would be reaching Pune, nor the truck / lorry no. They had already taken from me all the 100% advance which included packing, loading , transportation, unloading, unpacking of goods.
However, their labour kept on demanding extra money from me after the goods were packed and loaded on the truck. Initially their marketing person Deepak Kumar had told me that I have to Pay only 80% in advance, but later on insisted on paying 100%.
When finally on the day goods was to reach Pune, even on that day, company staff did not care to give me the driver’s contact no. It was strange to hear from Mr. Anand / Jitesh, that they need to contact the owner of the truck and get the driver’s contact no. This means that they hired another truck to transport my goods and was not sent in the company’s truck. When finally truck reached its destination in Pune, the driver showed his ignorance about unloading and unpacking of items and told that he was given instructions ONLY to deliver the goods. There were no labourers with him to unload and unpack the items. The truck had reached Pune late at night and the driver called the consignee on reaching the point of delivery and expected the consignee to immediately reach and receive there even though the company ( State Cargo Movers and Packers ) never gave any notice to the consignee.
When this matter was brought to the notice of Mr. Anand he very casually told not to worry as the driver will do the job on his own even though he did not had any instructions nor he had any labour at that point of time. The consignee was a lady who by force had to arrange the labour on her own at her own cost (Rs 1000 ) even though I had already paid the amount in advance.
We the consignor and the consignee suffered a lot of harassment and mental agony during all this time.
I would therefore like to make aware to all the people, my friends, relatives who in future would like to avail services of any movers and packers to be very cautious about their services and hidden costs, their behaviour and attitude, else they would may also suffer like me.
