*a review from me after a long hiatus so do forgive me if theres a problem with my writen words. I read the book sometime back just as numerous people have already done. I saw the cover of the book and then the writers name. RASHMI BANSAL printed in bold letters. the name familiar with me after I have read so many of those JAM mags. I immediately purchased the book, paying a small amount of money printed on the back cover.
Going thru the contents, I noticed many familiar companies with their mite not be as famous chair persons. No it doesnt speak on their lives but only the bit about how they started their businesses, their struggle and their creative minds. And yes, all these entrepreneurs are pass outs of IIM-Ahmedabad.the book is divided into 3 parts, namely- The Believers; The Opportunists; The AlternateVision-The Believers consists of people who knew entrepreneurship was their chosen path.-The Opportunists consists of people who hadnt planned to take this rough path but when opportunity knowcked their doors, they followed it.-and people with The AlternateVision were they who are using entrepreneurship to create social impact.
The book boasts of people like -sanjeev bikhchandani, r subramanian....err...sanjeev bikhchandani of naukri.com, r subramanian of subhiksha, narendra murkumbi of shree renuka sugars and more in The Believers.-Deep Kalra of makemytrip.com, Nirmal Jain of India Infoline, Jerry Rao of Mphasis etc. are featured in The Opportunists.-Venkat krishnan of give india, Anand Halve of Chlorophyll, etc. in the alternate visioned people.
The main feature of the book is the extensive research about the businesses of the people. ABout how they started it, how they are continuing it. Its a must read book which aint a biography, but still speaks about the lives of these successful entrepreneurs.
