We had our booking done through countrywide holidays. I was there with my wife for three days. We were unable to reach sterling Kodai over phone to reconfirm the status of our reservation.but still thought of risking to reach the hotel assuming the booking is confirmed. On arrival we were informed that the were out of order for quite a number of days.
The hotel is located about 4-5KMS from the noisy kodai town.(You’ll need a cab which will cast you about Rs.50 to take u there if you do not have ur own means of traveling. Alternatively you can take the "ferry service" from the boat house and will have to walk for about 2-3 Kms))
The resort faces the lake and gives a very nice and calm feel. The rooms are pretty decent and clean although there is a lot of room for improvement. . They have room heaters too, to keep the room warm.
Though the restaurant does not have a big menu list, the items served are of good taste. Breakfast buffet is offered for Rs.75 and DInner at Rs.350. The staff’s are well mannered and courteus indeed.
The resort does have some programs in the evening for the family, kids.though I did not experience them.but was told by some of the guests that it was a good experience.
Now to things I did not like.the bedcovers towels etc. seem very old.the TV reception was very poor(Inspite of complaints, they were unable to do anything about it)
sterling resort was an overall good getaway experience.Suggest the place for family’s
