Sterling is getting revived to its past glory

After being denied occupancy in another resort in Kodai valley - I came down back to the lake side with my family in a frustrated mood, just hoping and praying that I would get a room at sterling lake view(being a sterling member who has not used the facilities of this company for the past 10 years because they were in doldrums from 1998).  I was pleasantly surprised to be received at the reception by a very polite and genial Sardarji who was the senior manager front office.  I conveyed my desire to put up my family including three children and he immediately showed me to a room that was available - the room had a bad STINK and the flooring was chipping off with wear and tear.  the toilets were stained and badly kept that they looked the 30 odd years old, that is ever since the resort came into being.  later I had given them a feed back saying that these toilets needed immediately removal and replacement with something more clean and hygienic.

I had to take the room because I had no other option - but the surroundings, the garden, the childrens play area and the restaurant and the reception areas were looking good and clean.  the staff - almost all of them were very genial and always smiling, willing to help each and every guest out there.  The food in the restaurant was excellent, with most meals having a chef serving us with piping hot dosas, omelletes and rotis.  the proximity to the lake was another thing that I found very comfortable.  having driven over in my car I could spent most of the time around the lake - either cycling or boating.  my kids really enjoyed the air and the clean surroundings.  my 2 year old was mostly in the play pen area and my older kids were engaged in the painting classes with a tutor to help them out.  everything comes for a price including the facilites in the childrens area and the cycles which they have in the resort - which are priced well above the ones that are locally available around the lake.

Having stayed in this resort during the year 1998 - I felt it was being renovated and getting changed for the better.  the rooms really need a make over especially the stained toilets and bad flooring.  The housekeeping department has a lot to be put right - they never were around to attend to our needs even after hours of requesting them to lay the bed.  being a member I really hope the place would be revived and would be even better the next time I happen to visit Kodai.
