I had booked the Sterling Valley View timeshare at the beginning of the tourist season(April 3rd week) hoping for a cool getaway with family for a couple of days.
The rooms are poorly maintained - the smell of mold was everywhere. Carpets had been soaked with something and were rotting. I requested a change from the first room I was assigned, since the smell and mosquitoes from an overflowing drain nearby made it impossible to occupy. The second suite was slightly better but not what one can expect from a holiday resort - more like those rooms one occupies when breaking a journey on the road.
The clientele at the time was restricted to a few bachelor parties and tour groups which presumably did not mind the lack of ambience. The surroundings of the resort have now been taken over by a few petty shops. Many of the advertised features like games room, grocery etc. were not available, although the manager eexplained that these would be activated once the season gets into swing.
The food service was execrable and the desk overwhelmed with the tour group arrivals.
On my wifes insistence, we left the next day for a better hotel in the township. I would not recommend a stay at this resort for family units. I am told the Sterling Lakeview resort within the town is however better maintained.
