In the first place this one was probably the first of my independent visit and hence I was a bit skeptical of how it all will turn out. But thankfully enough, I had shortlisted Sterling Fernhill as the place of stay, which was purely out of the discount that I was able to avail (and which made me even more skeptical).
However, the resort is one of the best kinds, properly maintained, ideal location for family outings as well as honeymoon destination. The service is also good, though you will not find tasty north indian food ofcourse. And the food is very cheap. Also the staff has good etiquites and take care of the guests well. They also help arrange for local trips which is quiet cheap and affordable.
The place is some odd 5 kilometers from Ooty station and believe me the road to the resort is so nice that one can easliy walk down the stretch. The view from the balcony room provides such feeling that is out of scope to write down in words.
I strongly recommend Sterling for anyone who is planning to go to Ooty.
