There are some players who perform best under pressure and Steve Waugh, the Australian captain, is surely one of them.He is so cool and composed and always hits out during the crisis.He also happens to be one of my fav players.What I really admire about him is his dedication towards the craft, his professionlism and also that he never gives up till the very end and thats what sets him apart from the other players.He is truly a great sportsman and an asset to the Australian team.He is such a reliable player that one feels a sense of comfort and security when he goes out to play.He has got a cool head on his shoulders and I have never seen him loose control even in the toughest of situations.I also feel that he is the best ongoing captain and is a outstanding leader, and is such a powerful presence on the field.His track records both as a captain and as a player are great and justifies his talent.He has won many matches for Austalia and will continue to do so as long as he plays.
I particularly remember his knock against South Africa in the semi finals during the World cup 1999, when Australian team was in a mess with 4 wickets down for a very low score but that did not dampen his spirit and he played a gem of a innings thus winning the match for Australia and further winning the World cup.That was a knock out perfomance by Steve Waugh.
He is truly a inspiration for the young cricketers and he’ll go down as one of the great players in the history of Australian cricket.
