Captain Courageous...

Whenever I hear or see this man, only one thought cross my mind, and that is IS THERE ANYTHING LEFT THAT THIS MAN HAS NOT ACHIVEED OR EXPERIENCED IN CRICKET

What a excellent sequence of success starting from that hot Indian Summer of 1987, when as a member of Young Australian team he came to India for the first time.

Here are some of high points of his career.

1. Won the World Cup of 1987 held in India as a Player and was Man of the Semi Final against Pakistan. He scored 16 runs of the last over from Salim Jaffer and that was the same number of runs by which they won the match.

2. Was the member of Playing Eleven for Australia in the   Tied test against India.

3. Was the Man of the series in Carribean when for the    first time West Indies lost the series at home after more then 17 years.

4. Captained Australia for their second world cup title in 99 in England. The only player in the history of cricket to won the the World Cup as a player as well as a Captain.

5. Was the Man of the 1999 World Cup. Remember his Innings against South Africa.

6. The record of Winning most number of Test matches in sucession belongs to him (16 in a row).

7. And yesterday one more record for him to be the only second captain to loose a match after giving Follow-on to the Opponent.( One learns from EXPERIENCE AND MISTAKES )

I know that I could not cover all the highlights of his Illustrious career, but I think the above points are enough to think about the greatness of this man.

Compare this with Sachin records and achivements in cricket and I am sure Sachin will be left far behind both as a player and as well as a captain.

I think only one thing is left for Steve Waugh to do, and its taking Retirement from cricket and believe me even that he will do much better then other players, the day he does that Cricket will loose one of it’s great great fighter and leader.

HE IS ALL GREATNESS PERSONIFIED
