God! When will Shobha De come to reality? Why can’t she think of something real?and when will she come back to this world?
The other day I was reading this book and I was tempted to write this review.Shobha De thinks that this world is Bollywood and most of her characters potray the glamorous stars of filmi world. The story line conveys us the same old story of Bollywood that of a hero and heroine falling in love with each other with a villian present, sorry! vamp trying all sorts of hurdles to break their marriage and a happy reunion in the end after the death of the vamp.
What is strange about this novel ’’Strange Obsession’’ is that a woman falling head over heels in love with a woman. In fact Minx is no mysterious woman because she was the one who give protection in her house to a new comer Amrita, aspiring to become a model.
I can’t understand how the thoughts of obsession came to minxs mind and Amrita could know about it from the very beginning. She should have stayed away from her but on the contrary she enjoyed love making with Minx in her parents place.
The bathroom lovemaking was good but it could have been more interesting had Shobha De potrayed it between Amrita and her husband. The shadow of Minx kept on following Amrita everywhere and she could not get out of it which is just exagerrated.
This novel has been picturized into a movie called ’’Girlfriend’’Its a good novel but it has shades of fantasy too . When Amrita and her husband were on a honeymoon they had planned to make an enjoyable trip to a farm house in a chauffer driven carand here is an imaginary lovemaking scene.
Can we take it as real? Do newly married couples afford to do ’it’ in public .They could have controlled their emotions.
Its overall an okay type novel.
