I purchased a Su Kam 600 VA/12 V pure sine wave Home UPS for Rs 14500/- from a dealer called Aastha Enterprise at Behala, Kolkata on 28th of June’ 2008. With this I had replaced an old locally assembled 400 VA inverter which served me for about 6 years.
After purchase though immediate free home delivery was promised it took almost 3 days and lots of follow up for the delivery of machine from a dealer barely 500 meters from my house. Then the ordeal of installation took place, about 2 more days later a personnel came and installed the set and on request for certain change in connections, a whopping 300 /- per point was quoted(without wiring, as my house was already wired for my old inverter).
However when the first power cut took place the next day my family found to their horror that with a load of 2 tubelights and 2 fans my new UPS system started sounded low battery alarm within 15 minutes and got drained out within next 5 minutes. I was shocked to hear the same from them as I was in office, but I thought may be the batteries were not fully charged, and hoped for better in future. Although better times never came and the problem persisted, I was terribly disappointed and complained to the nearest service franchisee. Again after one day the personnel came who I understand tried to convince my family, that the fault is with our’faulty’ house wiring. When my wife refused to’buy’ such stories and forced the personnel to stay back and witness the full battery to low battery in 15 minutes, then the person accepted the same and took the warranty documents with an assurance of replacement within 7 days. And till date after lots and lots of follow up the replacement didnot reach me. Even their service Department guys are so horrible that they donot respond to the phone calls even, which I could collect after a lot of ordeal. as almost all the phone nos(for Kolkata) given in the warranty card and even in the web site are out of service.
Now I am planning to furnish a legal notice against this company .and if any body has to take a que from me, I would suggest kindly stay away fron this company and the dealers who get a good commission for selling inferior quality goods.
