Sukam Pure Sine wave inverter and Battery

First the details of the Model.

InverterModel - M-HUPS (Sine Wave) (Inverter cum UPS)

Capacity - 800 VA / 12V

Battery - HA 135C - 200 Ah

To start with I need to say that I have been using this for around 2 years time and I am very happy with it. So far no hazzles. The backup is awesome. All that I do is check the distill water level in the battery every month especially in Summer time and top it up appropriately. This battery is a Lead acid type battery. Total cost was around 14000 INR Rs around 2 years back.

Since it produces Sine wave output it is safe to use laptops or computers with zero worries unlike inverters which generate output power which are Square pulse based.I would suggest that this is one of the value for money products available. I havent faced any service issues yet. Only thing was the installation costed me around 1600 Rs.

Recently we shifted our house and the UPS was again installed in the new house by one Mr. Sashi for just 350 Rs. INR. It seems that this is the standard UPS installation rate. He is from Bangalore. If you need UPS installation you can contact him. The contact details are

Sashi

He is an experienced electrician who also has expertise in UPS/Battery servicing etc.

Basics of UPS Maintenence are as follows.

  1. Periodic maintenence of Battery (Checking the distilled water level every month should do)

  2. Avoiding complete discharge of battery in case of power blackouts. What I mean to say is, if u come to know that there is going to be a power shutdown for long hours use the UPS meticulously like avoiding unnecessary lights, fans, coolers etc.

  3. Avoid connecting heavy equipments like Mixie (blender), Washing machines etc.

  4. Place the UPS / Battery in a good ventilated place in the house, but avoid excessive moisture or water spillage.

  5. Do not cover with cloth or anything else cause it can restrict air flow required for cooling the system.

Hope these tips helps
