It was Sunday, 20th Nov 05 at roundabout 12:30 pm in the afternoon. We were at Infiniti Mall, Versova, Andheri.
We thought of going to 2nd floor of the mall wherein the Subway outlet is situated. It was not crowded.
I had been hearing from my friends about the subway sandwiches (in good sense), I thought might as well try it.
As we are vegetarians, we placed an order for a Paneer tikka - veg, 6 inch sub along with two cookies for Rs.110/-. The 6 inch sub was made and cut into two pieces and served to us along with the two cookies.
I was happily munching the sandwich just to find, when I was half way through, a snail like worm squirming in it...i don’t know what is the creature called in scientific terminology but I was taken aback. I just looked at it again incase my eyes would have imagined seeing something but there really was an alive creature with it’s tentacles going up and down, it must have been one and half inch in length, slimy and light brown in colour. I guess this experience really had a severe impact on me as I won’t ever forget it.
Avesh also saw it and he took the tray with the remaining part of sandwich (along with the creature yet in it) to the Subway stall. The staff started giving excuses.
By this time I was already feeling pukish, I requested for a tissue which the staff could not find immediately.....
The attitude and service was disappointing. I also told them that i’m surprized, how can this happen at a place like yours?
Nothing much was spoken...
The money was refunded at request but my complete day was ruined.....as I just could not eat anything for the entire day that day.
We understand that mistakes do happen but do you think such blunders are tolerable? Saying sorry is very easy.
This was our first and last experience with Subway.
