Subway @ Paradise Circle in a Dismay

I visited a Subway Restaurant @ Paradise Circle in Secunderabad to get a 6" Veggie sub and since it was Monday, I made the most of the offer for the day.

"Buy one and get one free(Purchase any 6-inch Sub or Salad+ Medium drink. Get another sub or salad FREE)"

The following is something that I never expected to see at any Subway outlet:

|) The guy who was making the Veg subs had to be told by a customer to change the gloves(polythene) as he made a Non-Veg sub for another customer previously. The guy acknowledged and did as told.

(What if the customer did not notice? No big deal for me but I know that it is a big deal for you Veggies out there)

|) The Sub guy noticed who came first and who came later and I was rightly recognized as the first customer and took my request but simultaneously along with the other customer who came after me who was a little pushy.

|)The choice of bread was never confirmed and the Oregano bread was split. The guy later says that it’s the best bread.

|) Two foot longs split(one for me and one for the other customer), the sub guy goes on adding the veggies for both of us without even asking. The choice of sauces in my sub is now in the hands of the other customer. The sub guy sploshed the same kind of sauces for both of us. I managed to get him to add an extra sweet onion sauce in mine, my only choice:(

|)The telephone rings in the back and the sub guys resort to bickering among themselves as to who should answer the call. A little Distraction. I realize that the guy forgot to add onions.

|) Wrapped and ready, I go to the counter and pay. Everything packed and done. The guy never adds a sauce packet unless asked. I got 1sachet for 2 subs!

& finally I taste the sub at the comfort of my home. One bite into the sub sends down a bitter taste down my throat. Why? Is it the cucumber? or the Cabbage? Is this normal?

I had subs in the past but none of them tasted like this. I know that cucumbers taste bitter inside sometimes but did not expect subway to serve the ones that tasted this way. Isn’t there someone monitoring the veggies that are brought in?

A few days ago, I had a turkey sub at a subway at Police lines in Begumpet and it tasted awesome. This one too had all the veggies in it.

If I go into more details and comparisons, it may lead to franchisee wars.

So, I’d stop here and let you decide where to buy and what to look out for when you are planning to eat out at subway. Mondays is hectic for them especially with the 1+1 Offer.

*Here’s what Subway has to say to those of you weight watchers:

Customer requests to modify the standard recipes or add cheese or condiments may increase fat or calorie content.*

So it can really be more than 6 grams of fat( as advertised in specific subs) if you have to grease your appetite.

bon appétit
