I made a resolution to give up Mac Donalds and have stuck to it. But instead got hooked on to subway.
In fact there is a joke in my office that my diet food is wheat bread sandwiches with mayonaise.
But if you are not the mirch masala kind of person or the udipi kinda... then making up your mind for lunch during a busy day or a field day is pretty tough. That is how I first came across this place.
However I had conveniently avoided it earlier because it was supposed to be this pricy joint. Flashy and nothing good - was what I had heard from lots of people.
But was pleasantly surprised when I went in. A simple veggie sandwich costs about 40 bucks and my fav bistro garden patty is 60 bucks plus taxes additional of course.
Guess when it comes to good food, one doesn’t mind paying. Like I said it is very convenient to pick up a sandwich and have it on the way. The packing is decent and clean. The staff at Subway is polite, courteous and eager to assist. I have visited three of the branches and hence can make a generic statement.
You can pick and choose your own veggies and the quantity as well. And the amount of salt, pepper and the sauces.
It is completely healthy. And they offer not just wheat bread but also white bread in various flavours.
Subway also serves iced tea which goes perfectly well with the meal. Like the coffee machine lots of places are now going in for the iced tea machine and must say it is not much different than if you had to physically prepare it.
Since I am a veggie can’t really comment about the non-veg variety in the place. But when it comes to the veggie delight, there is of course my fav Garden Bristo Patty and the humus and if you are in the mood of something light then just a salad would go well.
Personally speaking I think I can survive on Subway every meal, every day of every week.
