Start early

IITJEE is one of the toughest entrance exams in the world.

An aspirant should start preparing seriously from immediately after his class 10 board exams. Cracking this immensely competitive exam , in which 150000 students fight for about 2500 seats, requires a planned hard work.

If posible, one should join a good classroom coaching, like Bansal in Kota, FIITJEE and Vidyamandir classes in Delhi, Prerna classes in Jamshedpur and Ramaiah in Hyderabad. But not all cities boast of such good facilities. In that case, one can consider taking tuitions in individual subjects from good teachers. A good correspondence course, like RSM of FIITJEE or from Apex Academy (but not Elite) should also prove useful. But these can only assist a student. Self study from good books is a must.

One should also join a test series, again preferably of Fiitjee or Apex, as these are all India in nature and gives a student a good idea of his standing in his batch.

Before the exam, both screening and main, a student should solve a lot of practice papers, timing himself.Faulty time management is a major factor contributing to a students’ failure in IITJEE.

Do not skip topics. That may prove disastrous. A number of students skip easy topics like Inorganic Chemistry and lose marks.

You need not stop enjoying your life in class 11 and 12, but remember, never deviate from your goal. Planned hard work is the key to success.

Good books.
