Today I travelled from Bangalore to Mangalore in Sugama service Multi Axle Volvo, B’lore-Udupi-kp.
I have travelled in multi-axle night buses many times with Sugama and have not faced any issues with them until today. I boarded the bus from Hulimavu at 8:45 PM on 05 Jan and the driving was fine until we left the city which is around 10:45PM, probably due to traffic I guess.
After that the driver drove like a maniac.He nearly missed couple of times hitting other vehicles. He was over speeding and overtaking every opportunity he gets and the conductor was supporting him in this. When he applied breaks on speed breakers everyone would fall of their seats. Some other bus drivers in the road yelled at him to drive safe, but he never listened. No passengers have slept at night for sure thinking what vehicle this driver might end up hitting.
I am not sure if he was drunk or is he an inexperienced driver, but he surely put everyone’s life in the bus at risk the way he drove the bus. I request Sugama tourists to hire bus drivers with good experience who has night driving skills.
