Was referred to Dr KP Gandhi by a friend for my wife. The hospital is very centrally located, has valet parking and nice people all around. But what really stands out is the main draw here, Dr Kanwal Preet Gandhi - a gynecologist and obstetrician par excellence. She is knowledgeable and extremely efficient but the best part is that she is caring, approachable and most certainly the most loving doctor I have met in my life.
She hand held my wife through a difficult pre - pregnancy, right through a troubled pregnancy and then delivered a healthy bundle of joy to us. But the way she almost predicted and then managed each of the medical challenges took my breath away. Am in awe and that takes quite some taking. Especially since I am from the para medical field myself.
Her supporting doctors(gynecs and pediatricians) are also very good. I do think however that the interns and junior doctors need some training in manners and humanity. Sadly, it is they who man the casuality department and that can have major issues.
The admin staff in general is very good, moderately well trained and efficient. But, as is common in Delhi, has a "sab chalta hai" attitude towards their work / patients. And the moment Dr Gandhi is not looking they tend to lapse into a more carefree work ethic than what is expected. The nurses however seem to be able to hold their end of the duty up to scrutiny, though at times they too exhibit signs of complacency / lack of alertness. Like possibly any other organization of the world, there are some staff members who overshoot their brief and make things difficult for patient / care giver instead of being supportive and caring.
