When I first visited Sulekha , I wasnt impressed at all . It was too cluttered ( it still is ) and I didnt feel like browsing through it. It was only later when I started visiting it more frequently that I found that there was a hell of a lot of content. Sulekha boasts of more than 500 contributors who between them have managed to contribute hundreds of articles , poems , short stories , reviews and so on besides the regular columns. The Coffeehouse where discussions on all topics under the sun take place is always active and there are a number of interesting forums. The Newshopper is a unique place where readers can contribute links to news articles from various sources around the world.
Sulekha was started by an enterprising couple from the US , Satya Prabhakar and Sangeeta Kshettry and naturally there is a predominance of Indians from the US here. Considering the fact that nobody is paid anything , the quality of articles is remarkable ( although sometimes a few bad ones do slip in ).
