Sultan Ali khan i.e., Salman Khan is middle aged ex-wrestling champion, who is living a lonely life in Haryana. Aakash Oberi, the founder of a private martial arts League, is encouraged by his father to hire an Indian wrestler to salvage the leagues popularity. He travels to Haryana to make an offer to Sultan, who bluntly refuses and says he has completely retired from wrestling.
Eight years ago, Sultan fell in love ata the Sight of Aarfa Hussain(Anushka Sharma), a daughter of state wrestling coach. In order to win her respect Sultan dedicated himself to intense training and ultimately won a state-level wrestling tournament, as well as Aarfa’s love.
The two got married and become recognized wrestlers. Sultan represented India in various International tournaments. When the two were announced as finalists for the Olympic Games, Aarfa discovered that she was pregnant . she gave up her childhood dream of winning an Olympic Gold, which was then fulfilled by Sultan. After winning championship sultan became arrogant, and he acted rudely during a Press conference. When Aarfa was during due date Sultan left to win the world wrestling championship in Qatar.
After returning from championship, it was shocked to him that the new born baby had died due to severe anaemia. The baby had a rare O-negative blood type which was identical to Sultan, whose absence deprived the child of a donor. Aarfa decided to leave Sultan and reside with her father. From serve depression, Sultan began raising funds to open a blood bank in India after his son’s name.
Aakash urged Sultan to join in the league and promise him that the tournaments prize money will fulfill his dream of opening a blood bank. Sultan agrees despite having become unfit and tired, and travel to Delhi, were he met Fateh Singh(Randeep Hooda) a martial art coach. He initially refuses to train Sultan, but after seeing his determination he agreed. After two months of rigorous training, Sultan manages to regain his physique and learn how to wrestle freestyle. After struggling in his first match, he defeated the opponent in his own iconic wrestling style.
Soon after winning a series of fights he became famous and gains Aarfa’s support in the process. sultan got injured during the semi-final and was hospitalized. Arfa arrived at the ward and reconcile sultan and motivating him to continue fight. During the final match, Sultan overcomes his pain to defeat his opponent and ultimately wins the tournament. Reunited with his wife, sultan opens a blood bank and using the prize money and Aarfa resume’s wrestling. After few years, she gave birth to a baby girl, whom sultan begins to train as a wrestler.
The Music of Sultan is composed by Vishal-Shekhar, were the lyrics atre penned by irshad kamil. The sound track was released on 31 May 2016, consists of 9 songs. 4 sons sung by Salman Khan was released after the release of the original sound tracks. The sound Tracks are mentioned as below.
