Heres another movie that didnt get the applause it deserved.
Again I may be a little too late to comment on this one but comment I must because I want all of you to watch this one.
Before I get your expectations soaring, let me caution you, there are no big stars, for Sikandar is not one yet, no great music and no scenic locales in this one. On the contrary, the cast is mediocre, the music is not worth listening to and the camera work makes the wedding videographer look good.
Then why am I recommending this one to you? Surely not because I want you to have a bad time.
But because this one tells a great story. A saga that is sure to make you question whats crime and whos the criminal. A story that will irk every Indian and make us feel ashamed of our inaction to stand up to crime.
Had this story received the attention of the big producers, it would be the top grosser of the year. By a mile at that.
I would urge you to watch this one and then think what if Rakeysh Om Prakash Mehra had directed it and Aamir had acted in it. Without doubt Rang De Basanti would have had its worthy sequel.
Such is the power of this story. Of course the screenplay and dialogues need lots of improvement.
So when you lay your hands on an original DVD of Summer of 2007, do watch it and let me know if you agree with me.
And if you are an Ashutosh Rana fan, dont miss this one at all.
