Pros:
- Cheap rates. One of the cheapest rates on regional language packs(South Indian languages)
- Decent signal reception while skies are clear
- Cheap to install
Cons:
- Customer service - Getting someonefrom customer support to attend your call during special events such as cricket series etc. is a nightmare. Multiple calls are needed for that. There however have been improvements in providing quick resolutions.
- Poor online support. https://my.sundirect.in/recharge.aspx# this site is pretty basic. Please refer to the pictures uploaded. Sports or Infotainment has the same options only. Cannot recharge for A-la-carte selections. The process require me to recharge for a random amount and later call them to deduct the A-La-Carte fees from that.
- Poor quality of signal during rains - easily gets scrambled. I have rarely seen this in TataSky DTH connections.
Conclusion:
Good option if you do not want to shell out huge amount of money in installing or maintaining a DTH connection.
Suggestion: Decide on what you want in your package and pay. Try not to add channels in between. Do not pay annual tariffs, though they offer discounts. Make sure there are DTH recharging agents in your vicinity to make payments since most of the time, the online services will not help.
