I already have a tata sky connection with ultimate picture quality and excellent other features. Everything was going on fine until I chanced upon Sun Direct for my children’s room. Since Tata sky’s customer service implied that the same package applies for the second connection also I thought sun direct would be a better choice becos of the cost factor and also the funny tan tana tan ad.
They said that the total price was just 500 with 5 months subscription. But we had to pay 1750 in all(which included the installation fee 1250). That is almost equal to other pay channel services. Okay. Finally we thought the quality is going to be fine as it comes from the sun family of teleservices. The technicians(looked like hooligans) came to install and after finishing, said that they had to use extra cable and took 300 bucks. Then I had to pay them 100 more for tips.
Now the total cost had become higher than tatasky. But the worst was yet to come. The picture quality is anything but good and the other features like information about the programmes and the active channel(like in tata sky) were pitiable. There is a button named info but you press it and see nothing about the name of the movie or other basic details.
My woes are not over. The day it starts to drizzle I have no connection at all. The whole day goes by searching for signal even long after the sun comes up to dazzle. Even on ordinary days it takes a long time to connect like a good half hour. The quality of games and general information banner look like poor video game stuff.
Forget the ad on the tv. My ad(advice) is to stay away from this incapable cable service unless you want to be taken for a ride too.
