LET ME GET INSIDE YOUR HEAD

Did you ever have the feeling that someone crawled inside your head and nestled deep inside your brain and discovered all your secret thoughts, hopes and desires? Scary concept, isn’t it? Well, guess what!

Linda Goodman has done just that! It all started when my children were small. My children are my life and when someone hurts them, they hurt me. I am not unique. I am not strange. I’m like every mother: I’d die for my children. For a while I thought my passion was just a bit too strong. I thought my emotions bordered on that fine line between sane and insane. Then my friend suggested I read Sun Signs by Linda Goodman. HOORAY! I’M NOT CRAZY, AFTER ALL!!! But, in knowing this, I learned that Linda Goodman knew me all too well. There were (and still are) things about me that I would prefer keeping to myself. Yet, Ms. Goodman knows! How could she! Yes, how could she? Every thought or desire that has been running through my mind is mentioned in her description of The Taurus Woman. Ms. Goodman is so accurate, I felt as if she’d known me since the day I was born. She has described me, inside and out, to perfection. Okay, maybe she’s just lucky on this one. I read Virgo. My older son is Virgo. Again, Ms. Goodman is right on! Try #3. My younger son is Sagittarius and I would have sworn she helped me raise him. I also read her description of the Taurus Man. Now, I finally understood where our marriage had gone wrong. In her foresight, not only does Linda Goodman describe the Sun Signs in depth, she goes further by explaining how one Sign relates to other people and how you can recognize one Sign from another. She describes how the child of a particular Sign grows comfortably into the adult with the ever-so slight changes made by maturity.

I didn’t just read this excellently written book. I studied it! It helped me understand things about myself that I had only accepted. Now, for the first time, I understood why I did some of the things I did, why I had certain compulsions while I let other things just ’’slide’’ away. I am just like the bull she describes in The Taurus Woman. I can mosey peacefully through the meadow just sniffing the flowers. I can even watch you trample those pretty flowers while trespassing through my private garden. I’ll just stand there, ever so still and watch you. But don’t, I repeat DON’T wait around to wave those trampled flowers under my nose as if you just scored a victory. If you hang around that long, you’ll begin to notice my heels digging in the ground. It’s at that point, I would suggest you back away quietly. Don’t run; just leave. Don’t turn your back either. Charging is only a heartbeat away and you won’t see it coming.

The first time I had experience that kind of temper, I will admit, it scared the hell out of me. I had no idea I was capable of such violence. After reading L.G. Sun Signs, I realized that not only was I capable of it, I was prone to it! That’s when I realized I would have to watch for the warning signs and keep control. (I have been very fortunate. Since that first time, I have been able to hold my temper for all these years - however, I am always sure to let others know it’s there and brewing). One thing to know about a Taurus is that while the ’’bull’’ is snorting and stomping his foot, you’re not in any danger. Once that commotion stops, the bull has already decided to charge. Once he lowers his head and becomes quiet, run for cover! In a way, it was bit unnerving reading this book. Just to think that someone else could know so many things about you can get you a bit unhinged. But on the other hand, this is a book worth reading. I now know that I am not crazy. I’m just a Taurus Woman.
