Please brace yourself before going to Sunrise Hosp

The only nice thing I can say about this hospital that it looks fancy. I was to have a spinal surgery and it was scheduled on 8 Jun at 9:15 in the morning. I wanted this surgeon in particualr who prev owned a hospital but now works in Sunrise.  This surgeon has a philanthropic nature and is not used to excessively charging his patients and he had come p with an arrangement with the hospital to meet this requirement of his. It was very evident from the hospital staffs attitude that they were not supportive of him. But he is one of the best neurosurgeons and he has operated on me before which is why I was adamant to get it doen here.

However, it was half an hour before the surgery they still had not come to prepare me for the surgery, so my sister when to the nurses and asked what happened. So then one of them who had finished withher duty for the day told her the surgeon is incompetent and has a 50% success rate and the RMO wanted to speak to us. She also says his is showing signs of Alzheimers  Half an hour before the surgery!!! This hospital being so fancy with PRO reps and everything did not mention anything of this sort and all they were saying is payt the full amount..that was all they were concerned with. And moreover, after visitn the RMO, all he said was the surgery will get a little delayed due to an emergency case and the lack of an available OT. And my sis asked you had nothing further to tell us - he said no. I was enraged. half anhour before I go in to the OT for a major surgery a staff member comes to us and gves us so much to anxiety.

Another 15 mins later, my family was called to the MDs office where we learnthat the surgery was cancelled without the surgeons knowledge and because of tht the surgeon resigned. All this at our expense.

I undertand there is probably internal politics in every hospital, bt the patient and his/her family does not need or want to know abt it and no patient should suffer because of it.  If the MD did not want the surgeonto work in their hospital it should have been said before hand to him and not the way it was done here.

I have never ever seen such an unethical and poorly managed pvt hospital yet and I have been to quite a few hospitals.

Also, the hygiene in this place is ABYSMAL...the floor was not wiped and it stank. We filled the room with Odonil room freshners and agarbathis.

Here, more imp. than saving lives their motto is to make lots of money. Its all just a business.
