A nice attempt but not up to the mark

Super 30 is a nice attempt by director Vikas Bahl to highlight a big social issue of the society. The first half of the movie performs really well with very impressive story telling and direction. There are moments which can surely bring tears to one's eyes. The movie is very gripping till the first half and the interval too is at a time when you ask yourself what could possibly happen after the interval. But the movie looses it's pace, its grip, it's excitement and it's effect on the audience all together in the second half. The main problem which is always present even in good Bollywood movies is the unnecessary stretching its length. Same happend with this one too. Movie is full with the scenes which could be removed and there would be absolutely no effect on the movie.

Plot of the story revolves around Anand Kumar played by Hritik Roshan who is a prodigy in maths and how situations made him sell papads on the streets. He becomes a part of the coaching institution which provides iit coaching at high fees. And then after realizing that underprivileged students can't afford it he starts his free coaching. This simple story line becomes more fascinating because it's based on true story.

Coming to performance part, Hritik completely nailed his character as Anand Kumar. He have worked on that bihari accent perfectly. There are moments when he can make anyone cry with his acting. Mrunal Thakur has played her role nicely too. The CID fame Aditya Shrivastav have done an excellent job. And what can you say about Pankaj Tripathi! Even he is in a negative role you just can't hate his character. His character as the education minister is equally evil as well as funny. Rest of the cast have also done well. Amit sadh also appears in a small but effective role which he played nicely. So the acting part is good.

Nothing can be said about music the movie doesn't needed that much music and the songs it had were not up to the mark. But as this is not a masala movie so this can work. Even I couldn't remember any one song after coming out of the theater.

The cinematography and direction are also nice. The editing could have been better. This is a family movie which will surely attract multiplex audience. So final verdict is that this is a one time watchable movie which tries to break the rules of normal Bollywood movies but didn't suceed that much.
