Super Star - Super Power !!! MY India!!!

The book begins with Shobha De retrospecting over her country and her celebrating their 60th birthdays at the same time. Super star India goes through themes such as poverty, the Education ssystem in India, the youth of today the Indian economic scenario and many more social concerns.

There are discussions ranging from use of plastic cards, to Indian politicians, the global economic recession, non-resident Indians and the lost desi Indians.

Witty, passionate and gloriously opinionated, this is an India given to you from the perspective of one Indian. This kind of narrows down the definition of what Indias are comprised in India, but all books do have their share of pros and cons.

It was a book I had picked up years ago only to have re-read a couple of weeks ago, but most of the truths about the India that existed ten years ago. India she says are a mix of contradictions - and I totally agree with her.

Not just a Mera Bharat Mahaan, but a mera Bharat Jawaan.( as 505 of the Indians are below the age of 50 years.

Exasperating and annoying, Enchanting and alluring.

I personally felt that there are times in your reading phase where you nod your head in agreement with the depiction of Indians and there are moments when you feel that De looks at it from a lopsided point of view. Whatever your opinion may be, this is a book that maybe relevant to us Indians even later on after years have passed.

Her sense of humour, her sarcasm, her empathy, her compassion come across practically in most of the chapters of the book.

But the book does end on a positive note as she states that India will keep on shining and India is where all Indians hearts belong.

The book like India according to me is Incredible and Unstoppable.
