Boy oh Boy !! the Americans have done it again !! trust them to come up with a creative and bizarre show.
From ’’Who wants to be a millionaire?’’, ’’Who wants to marry a millionaire?’’ to ’’Survivor’’ they came a long way at a short time.They never cease to amaze me !! They come up with impossible situations and they get away with it !!
Survivor is a game show which consists of 16 participants who are required to live on an island with barest minimum means for 29 days.
The members are divided into two groups and the two groups fend for themselves as a team. Each of the members will be voted off on account of their behaivour and their characteristics. The last one who remains in that circle is teh survivor. The winner will be getting a cash prize of 1 million dollars and the runner up will be getting a cash prize of 100, 000 dollars.
In the beginning it was kind of boring watching this show. I had given up watching this but it became very interesting towards the end.
During the course of their stay, they would have to set up their own home and means to live with whatever available in the island. They have to play games and contest. The winners of the game would get food as gifts which would be like a luxury item for them as they would be living on stuff obtained from the island. Sometimes the winner of a particular contest would get an immunity symbol which would mean that he or she cannot be voted off if he or she is having the immunity symbol.
They would have nightly scheduled meetings where the voting will take place and the members get ousted one by one in each meeting.
Its very interesting to see how they lived. In the beginning it was a team effort. Each of the two groups fended for their team. But then these two groups formed an alliance and this alliance made each one fend for oneself. Things got tougher and much more competitive.
This game’s winner Richard happens to be a marketing guy and he was amazing in the way he played the game. He was cocky , arrogant and confident but he was the obvious leader of the entire group.
It was cut throat competition but he was the best strategist in the game and he deserved to win.
This game is a game of endurance and being smart. Here its the survival of the smartest. The winner has to keep himself from not being voted by 16 other members who are equally desirous of winning the money. That takes luck and strategy.
All in all it was an okay show. There have been mixed reactions to this show. I recommend that you watch it and decide for yourself whether you like it when the next show begins !
